My name is Rex Woodmore,
I am an Australian, Christian, Creationist, Environmentalist, Mineral Prospector, SCUBA Diver, Artist, Poet, Husband, Father & Happy Camper.
On this website I attempt to share my enthusiasm for life in Australia and my appreciation
of what I recognize to be God's amazing creation. I am a young earth creationist.
I have not always believed what I now believe.
The more I observed the wonders of design in nature, the more I came to realise there must be a designer. Today I recognise this Great Designer as the Creator of the Universe, my Lord and my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Before I came to the realization and acceptance of truth. Unlike ‘evidence’ which can be tampered with, truth cannot be altered, added to, diluted or tampered with in anyway. The truth, believe it or not, remains black and white, not shades of grey.
Ephesians 4:14-16 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

When I was a boy I had at least one birthday in five different countries with my ninth birthday in Australia.
I have wonderful memories of Egypt, Cyprus, Mauritius, East Africa and the UK, but my fondest childhood memories are those of when I lived in the midst of the Western Australian Jarrah forest, surrounded by trees and birds.
Until my retirement in 2009 the last 20 years or so were in the Horticultural/Floricultural and Environmental (Re-vegetation) Industries.
I have been a licensed collector of Australian tree seeds & I have professionally propagated, planted & grown thousands of trees.
So it should be no surprise that trees are the main subject matter in many of my paintings and I guess my name ‘’WOODmore’’ says it all.
On top of my interest in all forms of God's amazing Creation of Fauna & Flora, I have an enthusistic interest in Shipwrecks, Aboriginal Artifacts, Fossils, Geology & Mineral Prospecting. Rex Woodmore 2012

About my early diving: Before I was 21 yrs old I had completed a couple of 100ft dives, Dived to the deepest part of the Swan River which is about 21 metres (about 70ft) at Blackwall Reach, Bicton - Did a Mud dive (Under the instruction of Dennis Parker, a Police Diver) -Dived on several shipwrecks and very nearly drowned on the 1656 Wreck of the Vergulde Draeck (The Gilt Dragon) off the coast of WA.

About the UEC: The Underwater Explorers Club (UEC) is Western Australia's oldest and largest SCUBA diving club and it has a distinguished history.
Formed in 1954, the UEC conducted WA's first organised SCUBA diving school. Two years later the high standard of their instruction impressed the authorities so much that they were given the responsibility of training the original Police Diving Team in Perth. Dennis Parker, a Police diver at that time, was also a member of the UEC.
The UEC was involved in a lot of shipwreck exploration. Many wrecks on our coast, particularly in the metro area were discovered by UEC members. In the 1960's and 70's our members provided the core of workers for the early museum expeditions on the Dutch wrecks such as the famous Batavia at the Houtman Abrolhos islands.

OIl & Gas Industry: I worked for 6 months (Fly in & Out by helicopter 2 weeks on 2 weeks off) as a Roustabout on the Offshore Gas drilling rig -North Rankin 'A'. From the deck of the construction barge 'Hereema Thor' I witnessed the first landing of a chopper on North Rankin 'A' Gas platform.

About North Rankin 'A': Commissioned in 1984, North Rankin 'A' was the then largest gas production platform in the world, capable of producing 1,815 million cubic feet (51,400,000 m³) of gas per day and up to 47,400 barrels per day (7,540 m3/d) of condensate. Modifications have increased the facilities capacity by 50% and it remains one of the world's largest gas platforms. It is located 135 km north-west of Karratha and can accommodate more than 120 people. It services 25 production wells in the North Rankin and Perseus fields.

About Young Earth Creationism: As a Young-earth Creationists I believe the biblical account , as stated in Genesis 1, of God creating all things in a literal six (24-hour) days. I believe this occurred about 6,000 years ago. I also believe that about 4,000 years in the days of Noah the surface of the earth was destroyed and radically rearranged by the global flood . All land animals and birds not in Noah’s Ark (along with many sea creatures) perished, many of which were subsequently buried in the Flood sediments.

Beach Baptism by Rex Woodmore.
About Baptism: It must be stressed that the way to Heaven is by believing that Jesus is the Christ and putting ones faith in Him. Baptism alone does not save. However, salvation (being saved) should be followed by voluntary baptism. When someone decides to be baptised it is an “outward sign” of accepting Jesus as their Saviour and in my opinion, considering what Christ has done for me, it is the least I can do. The process of baptism is very simple. You begin by standing, sitting, or kneeling in some water. Another Christian then lowers you under the water and then brings you back up out of the water. You could also literally call this “immersion.” Some faiths sprinkle water on people instead of immersing them, but is this the correct procedure? In the Bible, baptism is always by immersion, so I see this as the answer.
“Baptize” is a transliteration of the original Greek word baptizw (baptizo). In turn, baptizo comes from the root word baptw (bapto), a term used in the first century for immersing a garment first into bleach and then into dye, both cleansing and changing the colour of the cloth. If sprinkling of any kind was to be practiced, a different Greek word would have been used, but it was not.
My eternal thanks to my Christian brother Ray Dowell for this treasured moment in my life when, in 1992, he baptized me in the sea at Busselton , Western Australia.

About the Truth of Scripture: Man’s ideas change but the Bible does not change - The Word of God never changes.

The process of taking divinely breathed scripture & having it recorded onto papyrus, paper and parchment, etc. by inspired men and then the preservation of these writings, has been debated for hundreds of years.
The original writings have been translated into other languages and from time to time people might bring out a new version perhaps in more modern language. There are also those who change the wording of the Bible (for instance by changing ‘He’ to ‘She’) to suit their own personal agenda.

Not all people share the same beliefs.

We don’t all share the same beliefs, but we all share common ground with our freedom of choice. We can choose to be Creationists or not, Christian or non-Christian and when it comes to evidence for our beliefs, again we all share the same common ground. We all have the same evidence and the same facts. For our evidence we all look to the same earth, the same fossil layers, the same flora and fauna, the same solar system, the same past, present and future and we all share the same facts.
Where we differ, is in the way we choose to interpret the facts and because we start with different presuppositions, we interpret the facts differently.
We then assume these things to be true, but we are unable to prove them. Our reasoning is based on presuppositions. This is particularly relevant when dealing with past events.
We all exist in the same present and all facts exist in the present. When we try to understand how the evidence came about, like where did the animals come from? What happened to the Dinosaurs? How did the fossil layers form? And so on, what we are really doing is trying to connect the past to the present. But none of us were there in the past to observe these events. So how can we know what happened and how can we can explain the present? We don’t really have a time travelling ‘Doctor Who’ to enlighten us.
But the Christian & the Jew claims to have been enlightened in these matters. They rely on the historic records in the Bible and claim them to be the Word of God who was there before the beginning and has revealed to us all, the major events of the past.
In a court of law these writings would be considered as evidence.
Just like a jury, we can choose to accept or reject this evidence. Again we all share the same freedom of choice and the same evidence and we can choose to believe or not to believe. We can build our presuppositions on these historic writings or we can build on our presuppositions with newly presented evidence (the more recent writings of others) or we are at liberty to develop our own theories or simply give up.

The reason I am a Creationist .

I believe the Bible is the Word of God and that it is accurate and truthful in all that it says. It has, to my satisfaction, been tested and found to be true in history, archaeology and fulfilled prophecy. Therefore I accept the Bible’s authority in the account of the origin of life.
I believe the biblical account of creation because to me it is the best explanation for the complexity of design in nature that I have personally witnessed. Everything I see in the Skies, Oceans, Deserts and Forests points to a divine designer.
I have worked closely with flowers and in them I see wonderful and precise design. The beauty and purpose of flowers, their variations in shape, colour and fragrance, to me, all point to a divine artist.
The age of the earth cannot be proven nor disproven by science or by scripture. All methods used are based on presuppositions. Both supporters of a young earth or an old earth believe what they believe by faith alone.
The scientific evidence for the age of the earth is the same for both young earth and old earth supporters. Research based on this shared evidence by either party amounts only to a feasibility study but never to proof.
The Christian and the Jew (if faithful to the Holy Scriptures) has faith in the Word of God. Others who do not have faith in the Word of God may have faith in the word of man or they may have faith in themselves or just give up & don’t believe anything.
We may choose to accept or reject God’s gift of what I believe is the true and historic explanation of the beginnings of things as recorded in the Bible, but in so doing, no matter what ones faith is in, no matter what ones presuppositions are based upon, we all accept God’s gift of freedom of choice.
I see this as more evidence for there being a Loving & Caring Creator God of all things. He offers us freedom of choice, the answers to the questions we all ask and He offers us a way to eternal life.
Because I choose to believe our shared evidence points to Creation, makes me no greater a person than one who chooses to believe our shared evidence points to something other than Creation. I do however lay claim to one thing, I claim wisdom. Not wisdom brought about by my 66 years on this earth, but wisdom brought about by my acceptance and respect for my Creator.

Where we differ, is in the way we choose to interpret the facts and because we start with different presuppositions, we interpret the facts differently.
We then assume these things to be true, but we are unable to prove them. Our reasoning is based on presuppositions. This is particularly relevant when dealing with past events.
We all exist in the same present and all facts exist in the present. When we try to understand how the evidence came about, like where did the animals come from? What happened to the Dinosaurs? How did the fossil layers form? And so on, what we are really doing is trying to connect the past to the present. But none of us were there in the past to observe these events. So how can we know what happened and how can we can explain the present? We don’t really have a time travelling ‘Doctor Who’ to enlighten us.
But the Christian & the Jew claims to have been enlightened in these matters. They rely on the historic records in the Bible and claim them to be the Word of God who was there before the beginning and has revealed to us all, the major events of the past.
In a court of law these writings would be considered as evidence.
Just like a jury, we can choose to accept or reject this evidence. Again we all share the same freedom of choice and the same evidence and we can choose to believe or not to believe. We can build our presuppositions on these historic writings or we can build on our presuppositions with newly presented evidence (the more recent writings of others) or we are at liberty to develop our own theories or simply give up.

The reason I am a Creationist .

I believe the Bible is the Word of God and that it is accurate and truthful in all that it says. It has, to my satisfaction, been tested and found to be true in history, archaeology and fulfilled prophecy. Therefore I accept the Bible’s authority in the account of the origin of life.
I believe the biblical account of creation because to me it is the best explanation for the complexity of design in nature that I have personally witnessed. Everything I see in the Skies, Oceans, Deserts and Forests points to a divine designer.
I have worked closely with flowers and in them I see wonderful and precise design. The beauty and purpose of flowers, their variations in shape, colour and fragrance, to me, all point to a divine artist.
